The team here at Absolute have won a competitive pitch to develop Queen’s University Belfast’s digital transformation plan. The initial work will include a user informed blueprint and information architecture to deliver a personalised, interactive digital user experience, optimised for mobile, tablet, and desktop applications for Queen’s, a member of the Russell Group of 24 leading UK research-intensive universities.

Alongside the Research, Design and Build, we will deliver an integrated campaign and content strategy to drive traffic and optimise conversion goals after launch. We will also be developing a new online brand hub to allow the University schools and departments to have access to all of the tools and information needed to develop their web presence following a correct brand journey.

Kevin Mulhern, Queen’s University’s Head of Communications and External Affairs said: “The appointment of Absolute is a key step to delivering our digital transformation process over the next few years. They clearly demonstrated that they have the skills, experience and drive to really deliver an exceptional market leading website. Queen’s is a world-class research intensive institution and the new digital channel will offer our stakeholders an easy to use, high quality, interactive and personalised experience, ensuring content is optimised in support of the University’s Global Vision and Strategic Priorities”.

Over the last two months we have facilitated focus groups and research studies to produce a detailed research analysis, containing all of the information needed to identify and develop key user journeys and the sites information architecture.

Our MD, Chris Hodgen said: “It’s a great privilege to work with such a high profile University as Queen’s. They have a strong heritage, fantastic facilities and a great team who we are enjoying working with immensely. We both have the same passion and vision for what Queen’s University needs to deliver, and we are looking forward to progressing the project over the coming months.

“Working with Queen’s University really strengthens our credentials in delivering fantastic results in the education industry. After the successful launch of the University of Manchester’s website last year we have now worked alongside two renowned Russell Group Universities which is great kudos for my team at Absolute as we continue to grow as a business. 2015 is going to be a big year for us, as we plan to open two new offices as well as launch our new 2,500 sq. ft. video & animation production studio at our head office in Horwich”.

The new Queen’s University Belfast website is expected to be live early next year so keep your eyes peeled!
