The University of Manchester
The University of Manchester is one of the leading Universities in the UK after the merger of the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology with the Victoria University of Manchester in 2004. The university enjoys a reputation for pioneering research and innovation. Part of the prestigious Russell Group of universities, with outstanding facilities and the widest range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The brief was to not only design a new modern look and feel but also make it responsive to work across all devices and make sure that the navigation architecture worked just as well on a mobile device as a desktop.
The biggest challenge in delivering a clear user journey across both desktop and mobile devices, was getting a clear understanding from the outset on how we could make the navigation work down to 13 levels of nested content. SEO was key for the University of Manchester, delivering the right content to highlight all the courses and facilities that they offer, across many different schools and departments.

Digital Brand Kit
The second part of the brief was to design and develop and digital brand kit to allow the schools within the university to develop their own school websites using the detailed digital brand guidelines. The kit gave them all the assets and guidelines to deliver their sites encompassing everything from colour palette, typography, roll over states, social media links, photography and copy tone etc.
