Every once in a while a chance meeting with someone turns into something really interesting. On this occasion, we met Swifty Scooters at a Blab event in Manchester that we sponsored, and we got talking about the possibilities of working together on some cool projects.

Swifty Scooters was founded by design duo Camilla and Jason Iftakhar in 2011. Their vision is rooted in a shared passion for human powered transport and a shared spirit of adventure. And over the past 4 years they have been designing and engineering some of the most beautifully crafted adult scooters around. Swifty Scooters are designed to make you smile, they’re created with a belief that anyone can use them, and we’ve been using ours, a lot.

We’ve had some fun with the 2 special edition models they brought to the studio when they visited us. They kindly produced a Swifty Air and a Swifty One scooter for Absolute, both in our brand orange colour. We didn’t waste any time getting on them and trying them out around the studio. And you can literally ‘Go Anywhere’ on them, the larger wheel design lets you do that. It’s a brilliant feeling when you’re gliding around freely.

Testing the scooters out got us thinking about some initial campaign ideas to promote each model. We wanted to show the extreme use of each scooter in the range, so we’ve produced some campaign posters around how far you can push them. We photographed them on location in Manchester with 2 guest riders; on the Zero – Jack Morrissey and on the Air – Leon Coleman. And as you can see, the results are pretty cool.

Whilst on location we also took the opportunity to take some lifestyle and action photography to add to the portfolio of images for Swifty.

The great thing about working with a client like Swifty Scooters, both the founders are designers, so creativity and great ideas come in abundance. We’ve already got more exciting projects in the pipeline, including some video and digital concepts to support the brand campaigns.
