The University of Bradford has made great strides since it became the 40th University to be created when it received its royal charter in 1966. Over the last five years Bradford had been moving up the University league tables with constant investment in its facilities and staff, but the student union had had very little marketing spent on it at all during that time.

It was clear that selling the Bradford lifestyle was an important factor in the recruitment of new students each year, so the Bradford University marketing team wanted to bring the student union creative up to date with a well designed responsive website.

Designs for a dynamic what's happening module that combines social and web content

Absolute were tasked with the job of rebranding the Student Union and designing a new website to showcase all the events and societies on offer, as well as who to contact within the Student Executive Officers for support. We were also briefed to develop a detailed digital brand guidelines document that would allow the in house marketing team to develop the website further in house so that it was consistent and on brand.

One of the main elements that we wanted to develop for the Students Union was a much better social media presence. Bradford currently weren’t using social media to their advantage, so our new design needed to integrate with social media a lot better so we integrated an innovative social wall that pulled in tweets, Facebook comments and Instagram images onto the home page.

Once the site was designed, the artwork was supplied to their in house development team who built the site into Terminal 4 education content management system.
